The 4A curl is the first of the coiled curl type and is known as the slightly coiled curl because it isn’t as tight as the next two type 4 curls. The width of this curl is thinner than the type 3 curls, but still has definition and is best used at a 50% size percentage, going too small will create a 4C afro. That goes to say, this can be used for other afro types.
